About Me

Hi, I’m Taylor. Working on a PhD, I study comparative and identity politics. I spend my free time (when I’m not hitting snooze for the second or third time) running, practicing photography, and reading.

I created my first travel blog in 2014 and it’s been with me ever since. Starting out as a daily travel dairy, it later became a gallery of my photos and summaries of trips. Now it serves as a community resource for fellow travelers looking for practical, often budget friendly guides and tips.

Solo travel, budget travel, and improving awareness of the myriad of political, social, geographic, and economic factors that make a place more than a tourist destination are the topics I like to write about. Furthermore, I care about my individual impact as a traveler on a place. I hope these interests come through in my writing and help motivate others to get out there to experience and learn more.
